| Recent data has made the following revelations: |
At least two major brands of bottle water have proven to be nothing more than tap water with no treatment. |
There is no government control over the quality of bottled water. |
Data has shown that 90% of users of bottled water throw away the bottles. These bottles end up in land fill and take 1,000 years to degrade. |
Of those bottles that were recycled almost 40% were exported to China. |
According to the Pacific Institute, more than 17 million barrels of oil were used to produce 31.2 billion liters of bottled water that Americans consumed in 2006. |
Bottling the water produced more than 2.5 million tons of carbon dioxide. |

The impact of bottled water on our resources and environment cannot be denied or ignored, so states the Santa Clara Valley Water District.

For one of our commercial clients, AmTec is presently installing water coolers (a generic name for drinking water point of use systems) in place of bottled water vending machines. These water coolers produce both hot and refrigerated water. We add the customer's choice of water treatment prior to the inlet to the water coolers. We can add e.g. a simple double filtration system or reverse osmosis, the correct treatment system, depending on the quality of the existing water source at the facility.
